I read, and talk and listen, in attempt to learn all that I can About how to deal with bipolar so that I can grow to be a man I, like many others, am capable of making a positive impact on this earth If only people would accept me and treat me with true worth
The public does not take kindly to people with bipolar disorder They shun us and say nasty things when caring would be in order Most people remain ignorant regarding what this illness is all about They only see the Dr. Jekyll side and ignore when Mr. Hyde comes out.
Many famous people have had productive lives despite this disease throughout our nation’s history, And yet the origin of this illness continues to remain a mystery. Heredity and environment are said to contribute to its being That helps explain the high incidence rate that professionals are now seeing.
My doctor is a blessing, as are the inventors of my medication I am thankful to all the researchers who have shown such dedication. Despite the diagnosis, I’m grateful for the help I’ve been fortunate to receive My family loves and supports me more than anyone could conceive
Still no one without bipolar knows exactly what it feels like to be afflicted The illness makes you feel trapped inside like a prisoner who’s been convicted. Normally a positive citizen who has a calm demeanor, When bipolar overcomes me there is no one who is meaner. It causes me to be down and depressed or extremely manically high I don’t even know what is happening and can’t stop it if I try
For now all that I can possibly do is to try to stay symptom free. But, I hope someday they’ll find a cure and bipolar disorder will cease to be.
